Which one is the latest one...is that House Rules? I have not read it yet...I really enjoyed Plain Truth

not really they are all so different and thought provoking. her latest in certain respects is my favorite as it touched me not just due to the rsd but i could relate to the educational side as being a dyslexic and not being able to read at all until i was about 12 i could relate to the fact that the aspergers child was considered so different. of course 19 minutes was also an excellent book. do you have a favorite

I like all of Jodi Piccoult's books as well! Do you have a favorite?
Julian Phillips Comment by Julian Phillips on November 13, 2010 at 2:14pm
not only do i have this thing called rsd but i am also a pretty bad dyslexic and so reading is very slow for me. as a result i did n ot read to much as a youngster. also when youg of course i could only try reading "man/boy" perceived books which i hated. now that i have had to accept so many changes in my life due rsd etc and also at fifty plus decided who cares what i read so long as i enjoy it and now have found a love for reading and find i enjoy the books jodi picoulet and barbara dickenson write. with not being able to work i am trying to accept my situation and not feel guilty for reading during the day.

Of course I have to mention my book, A PAINED LIFE, a chronic pain journey.
It is my story and been called "a fascinating story" by Stephen Hall, NY Rimes magazine writer, and "hard to put down" by the ACPA (A,erican Chronic Pain Association) reviewer.
My favorite book is called House Of God by Samuel Shem.
I don't know if it is funnier if you have worked in a teaching hospital or not but it is a satire of the first year of residency. and, as they say, 'spot on'.
The author is a psychiatrist but (and?) it is truly one of the funniest books I think I have ever read.

If you look at it only from a patient's perspective, something I had not thought of til just now, and have never seen the inside workings of a hospital it might not be your cup of tea.
That being said, I have read it umpteen times and never not laughed.

One of my all-time favorite books that helped me gain perspective during my healing journey is "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz.

Please do! I love the idea of Happy CDs! My mom and I used to make those too, but we named them Songs of Inspiration...I like "Happy CDs" better!
