Greetings!

Just wanted to say hello to my support community.  I hope everyone's holiday season has been as peaceful as possible and with minimal pain.  I wish for people here in the new year peace, comfort and joy.  I saw a quote the other day that was and is inspiring:  "Don't lose hope.  When things are the darkest, the stars come out."  It is my belief that we are all "stars."Peace,CyndiSee More

Dealing with Depression

Chronic pain has actually taken as much of a back seat as it can in my life recently.  Although I have been working hard on maintaining a more positive attitude, depression has come knocking on my door yet again.  I also have several other chronic conditions besides chronic pain and some of them have been out-of-control recently.  I have felt discouraged and depressed that eventhough I have worked extra hard at taking good care of my health this past year, my body does not seem to be…See More

Thanks-giving: Being Grateful ?

Being thankful when you have chronic pain can certainly be challenging and feel impossible at times.  I have had my own difficulties with finding anything to be grateful for especially on days when my pain level is sky-high.  I find what works best for me is to focus on small things I can enjoy and/or share with others.  Getting out of myself to help another person even when I may not be feeling well is a stradegy I often use to improve my mood and attitude.  Around the holidays can, for some…See More

Alternative Healing

I would like to share what I have been going through for prayers, support, and any helpful information community members may have.  My pain management doctor had been becoming concerned about the level of pain meds I had reached in treatment of my chronic pain issues.  I was on two powerful narcotic medications.  I say "was" because for the past six days I have been in a psychiatric facility which has a good reputaion for treating my withdrawl symptoms as well as the depression I have been…See More

Hi Cyndi!

Sorry it has been so long since I have written to you. I cannot figure out just where the time goes! How have you been feeling? I have been okay, I guess. the renovations to my bathroom have finally been completed. It was such a fiasco! the contractor put all the ceramic tiles in crooked, so he was forced to remove them all and start the propject over again. so instead of it taking 2 weeks, it lasted a total of 6 weeks! All that time in a hotel was not fun at all!  Well, I hope to hear back from you soon!

Hi Cyndi, welcome! I see you are an animal lover as well, great. Me too, although my tastes lean a little towards the unconventional. I love all animals but my favorites are salamanders, LOL And we do have an awful lot of them in Connecticut. I am new to the State, as a matter of fact today (Feb 20) is my one year anniversary for living here. I am looking forward to talking with you, I have another friend here, her name is Stacie, a great person. It is really nice to have another person from the immediate area. Do I see a summer luncheon coming up?? LOL, Hope to talk to you soon, Marie

Hi Cyndi! I just wanted to welcome you to HoH ... how are you doing? At HoH, we are all here to support, inspire and encourage each other through the ups and downs of pain. I know through my own journey how important it was for me to connect with others who were also enduring many of the same challenges and experiences. I hope you feel empowered through reading others responses and sharing your own. We all have something to offer each other. Sending lots of healing wishes your way...keep holding onto hope!
