Susan,
There are so many different things I have done to bring me relief. I think the greatest lesson I learned was that I had to become proactive and empowered along my journey. It was difficult to do, but I am so glad I finally began speaking my voice and listening to my intuition. You know your body better than anyone else. The second advice that I give is that if you do not feel like your doctor is working well with you, find someone else. There so many doctors who understand pain and validate those living with pain; they work with you to find therapies that fit your lifestyle. Never give up on yourself. Remember that tomorrow may be your day to find your miracle.
I looked outside the box to find many of my treatments. The STS machine (www.paindefeat.com) saved my life. I also changed my diet and began mild strength training. I see an acupuncturist and drink Limu juice. I try to meditate and/or journal to help me deal with my emotions and work through problems. I basically focus on myself -- healing my spiritual, mental, emotional and physical bodies.
I hope this is of some help. There is so much to share. I really hope looking at past discussions and reading others responses also sheds light and brings you new ideas and hope.
Sending healing wishes!

As I am not sure where Clayton is in relation to the shore I have no idea if you you were in Irene's path as we were here in eastern PA. However we have been very lucky with little damage locally but 50 mile sout of us in Philly they got hammered. Well It is tiem to take my burning arm and neck of to bed for another see how late it will be before I can get to sleep. Enjoy the site.
