“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to
be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to
be?" –Marianne Williamson

Going beyond that is the fear of failing to live up to the responsibility of being brilliant, gorgeous, talented etc. Often what we value in ourselves is what society has dictated we value. Women are told to be nurturing, beautiful, thin, strong etc Men should be good providers, strong, and also emotionally expressive. Both need to be successful in their endeavours for society to give the nod and say 'your doing ok' But what if you are not those things? What if you are a fat, ugly, weak hermaphrodite? It's the letting go of looking to society for that nod which is scary because then we have to be happy with our selves! Yikes!!! Who are we when all of the outside stuff is wiped away? When we no longer have to please an other and realise we are alone (all-one) many of the fears are washed away by tears of joy and the result is often pleasing one another because we want to and not because we have to.
