A Pain Survivor Community
Yesterday was the perfect day. I woke early, drove to the city to pick up a dear friend and then we met my mom at the Sonoma Mission Inn for a spa day. Being able to relax and soak in the mineral waters was exactly what I needed. As the aches in my low back dissipated as well as the inflammation in my legs so did my worries and frustrations.
A shift occurred inside. The hot mineral springs not only healed my body, but more importantly, the waters healed my spirit. I started breathing easier and thinking clearer. Allowing myself to let go of every day life, I laughed, I shared personal feelings … I was present in the moment.
We all need to have days like that. As I came home refreshed and renewed, I kept thinking how important it is to have retreat from our challenges once in awhile in order to nurture and reconnect with our inner-selves. Remember to put yourself first.
